Art creates connection in a way nothing else can
As an artist and designer, I believe that art has the power to connect us all. It is a universal language that transcends borders, cultures, and languages. It brings us together and allows us to share our experiences and emotions in a way that nothing else can.
But art is not just for the privileged few. It is for everyone to enjoy and appreciate. It comes in many forms and can be found in every corner of the world. From street art to museum exhibits, there is something for everyone - and I believe you should find the art that is right for you.
Surrounding ourselves with art elevates our lives and creates happiness. It inspires us to think differently, to see the world from a new perspective, and to appreciate the beauty that surrounds us.
In a fast-paced, consumer driven world there can be a lot of ‘sameness’. I’m not here to criticise capitalism (although I strongly believe in choosing meaningful ways to reduce our consumption and environmental impact – but that’s another blog post), but I AM here to say that you and your life is SO SPECIAL, and what a shame it would be to spend your whole life surrounded by generic things that hold no meaning to you.
Art also does not need to be expensive – you can choose to purchase prints instead of original artwork, or create your own artwork, or buy the smaller investment item from a sustainable brand, or even purchase art second-hand. The opportunities are endless, but once you begin to be mindful of what you consume, you will automatically eliminate clutter and accumulate items with meaning. Items with memory. Items that fill you with joy and create connection. This is the power of art.
