Hi, I’m Steph.
I’m an artist and designer living in Perth, creating on Whadjuk Noongar land.
I’ve been painting since I could hold a brush — my first still life (a bowl of fruit) happened at age four — and creativity has been part of my story ever since. I trained as a graphic designer and have always worked in creative spaces, but it wasn’t until an early pregnancy loss in 2019 that I truly returned to painting. What started as a way to process and reconnect with myself gradually became something deeper — a practice rooted in feeling, colour, nostalgia, and memory.
I’m drawn to life’s soft in-between moments — the warmth of a summer afternoon, the hush of early morning light, the way memory gently reshapes a place or feeling over time. These fragments often become the starting point for my work.
I use acrylics and oil sticks to build layered, expressive paintings filled with pattern, movement, and depth. My inspiration flows from the natural landscapes of Australia — especially Western Australia’s wild beauty — and from a love of travel and connection.
In recent years, I’ve been lucky to collaborate with brands like Yogat, Outback Linen Co, Colby the Label, and Peggy Road.
In 2025 I have been named a finalist in several national prizes, including the Soho Studios Art Prize, Inside This Box with The Corner Store Gallery, and the Art to Art Unearthed Art Prize.
When I’m not painting, I’m usually hanging out with my two little loves (Mr 5 and Ms 3), or dreaming up the next idea over a strong cup of coffee.
This creative path hasn’t always been straight — but it’s been honest, and full of lessons in following what feels true. I’m so glad you’re here as part of it.
Thanks for being here,
Steph x
